In clinical case reports on Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) — previously known as multiple personality disorder — researchers have documented shifts not only in mood and behavior, but in the physical body itself.

  • One identity might be allergic to cats; another isn’t.

  • One alter may be diabetic; the next registers normal blood sugar.

  • EEGs, heart rate, handedness, and even vision have been shown to vary dramatically between personalities.

  • And yes — there are cases where eye color was reported to change between alters (Putnam, 1989; Braun, 1986).
